Upholding the Right to Believe, Worship, and Live in Truth

In a world where polarization, persecution, and political oppression continue to rise, the freedom of religious belief remains one of the most threatened yet foundational human rights. At Intermissions International Commission, we affirm that the right to believe freely and without fear is not only a civil liberty but a divine entitlement. Rooted in our commitment to truth, justice, and spiritual dignity, we stand at the forefront of the global movement to defend, advocate for, and uphold the freedom of faith for all people.

What Freedom of Religion Truly Means

Freedom of religion is more than the ability to attend a place of worship or profess a creed. It is the sacred right of every individual to:

  • Seek and know divine truth
  • Practice their faith openly and without coercion
  • Educate their children in alignment with their beliefs
  • Gather with fellow believers in safety
  • Convert, question, or reaffirm their convictions without state interference

This freedom encompasses both the right to worship and the right not to be compelled to believe. It is the shield against tyranny, the refuge for the conscience, and the doorway to true reconciliation among peoples of different tradition

Our Conviction: Freedom Rooted in Faith

Intermissions is founded upon the prophetic belief that every human being bears the image of Yahuah, and thus, deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and moral agency. Our mission to defend religious freedom is grounded not in politics—but in spiritual responsibility.

We believe that:

  • No government has the authority to override the conscience of its people
  • Persecution of faith is a direct assault on human identity and dignity
  • Spiritual liberty is essential for peace, justice, and sustainable development
  • Freedom of belief is a cornerstone of every thriving, pluralistic society

Yahusha Himself modeled this freedom when He spoke the truth in love and invited—never coerced—His followers. That example remains our guide.

The Global Crisis of Religious Persecution

Millions around the world are denied this basic freedom. From Christians in conflict zones, to indigenous believers silenced by colonial systems, to minority faiths restricted by legal oppression, the reality is sobering:

  • Over 360 million Christians currently face high levels of persecution globally
  • In over 50 countries, laws directly criminalize conversion or public expression of faith
  • Thousands of houses of worship are destroyed or shut down every year
  • Countless people are imprisoned, harassed, exiled, or killed—simply for their beliefs

This is not just injustice. It is a spiritual emergency. And Intermissions is responding.

Intermissions International Commission defends the freedom of religious belief through four core strategies:

  1. Global Advocacy

We engage with international bodies, human rights forums, and local governments to raise awareness, influence policy, and ensure legal protections for religious minorities.

  1. Faith-Based Education

Through seminars, publications, and training programs, we teach communities—especially youth—about the value of religious liberty and how to stand for it without violence or hatred.

  1. Protection and Relief for the Persecuted

In high-risk zones, we provide support to persecuted believers through legal aid, relocation assistance, emergency relief, and trauma care—ensuring they are never abandoned.

  1. Interfaith Dialogue and Reconciliation

We convene leaders from diverse backgrounds to foster respectful engagement, correct misunderstandings, and build bridges of peace where division once ruled.

Both international law and spiritual truth affirm our position. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states:
“Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion…”

  • 2 Corinthians 3:17 declares:
“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

Both heaven and earth mandate us to defend this liberty with courage, compassion, and conviction.

You don’t have to be a lawyer or activist to make a difference. You can help protect religious freedom by:

“Freedom is not the permission to believe anything, but the protection of the right to believe the truth.”
At Intermissions International Commission, we proclaim the truth and defend it wherever it’s threatened.
